My Story
My story is a simple one - I LOVE SCENTSY! Scentsy launched in Australia in September 2013 and I was ready and waiting with my sister and two of my friends to sign up the second the system would allow us to - it was a seriously exciting and also sleep deprived day! We had heard about Scentsy roughly six weeks prior to the launch from a good friend over in Canada. Her mum was a consultant so she said 'hey - check this out, my mum is a consultant and it's about to launch in your country, do you know anyone who might be interested?' ....and that was the beginning of it, I new that I was going to spend far too much money on these products so the decision was made - let's give it a crack!? There were a number of things going through my head that lead to my decision to join: - If I sign up then I can atleast earn commission on my own sales in turn getting a 'discount' for my products. - I already work full time, am I really going to have time for this? - The minimums seem pretty easy to achieve, even if I didn't push the business side of things or had some really busy months and didn't have the time for Scentsy, my own orders, my family and a few friends could easily help me to stay active. - I'm not sure how I'll go because I've never been a sales woman and I really dislike talking on the phone, but hey maybe this will push me out of my comfort zone and and be an opportunity to grow and improve in these areas - I'm not a huge fan of 'direct sales' and don't really like people trying to push a product on me, do I really want to be one of those people? (Though I vowed not to be a pushy sales woman I have since discovered that Scentsy actually sells itself, just lay it out on the table, get people smelling and oh, that's the good stuff! If someone loves fragrance - they will LOVE Scentsy and if it's not their thing, then it's just not their thing - plenty of others out there who do love it!) - If I decide it's not for me then what have I really lost? The starter kit is only $139 + $13 shipping, includes a bunch of products and all the fragrance testers so if it doesn't work out then it just means I'll be able to warm all my testers and keep some really cool products. And I'm sure there were even more things I considered but saying 'Hey, let's just give it a shot' has lead me to where I am today, a SuperStar consultant with a small team of amazing friends. Some I already knew and others I have met along the way. I have grown as a person in ways I couldn't have imagined (or maybe I did imagine it and that's also a reason I decided to go for it?) and find that Scentsy has also helped me to develop further in my full time Career choice as an Architect. Coming home to a sweetly fragranced house instantly lifts my mood, I love that there are soo many fragrances that there is literally something for everyone's taste and style. I love that if I'm too busy with other things that I can ease up on the Scentsy pedal and I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing the joy on someone elses face as they fall in love with Scentsy! Also INCENTIVE TRIPS - who doesn't want a free holiday?! Scentsy offer a trip every year which every single consultant has the opportunity to earn. My sister, my first team mate and I were all able to earn the first Incentive trip offered to Australian consultants and had an absolute blast in Los Angeles and St Louis at the annual Scentsy Family Reunion. It was incredible! If you love fragrance, if you are looking for a hobby to pass some time, have had a few children and now want a flexible workplace that suits YOU, if you are looking for a second family, if you just want to be your own boss, or love the idea of having your very own business then Scentsy is for you. And really all you needed to do was say you know what? YES, I LOVE FRAGRANCE and that meets all the requirements. Really, anyone can do it! All you need is a lot of determination and a willingness to try and accept that there will be some failures and you will get some no's, but the yes's and the successes far outweigh that! In the beginning I wondered if I would have time for Scentsy but now I love it so much I just have to keep going - who wouldn't want to party for a bonus pay cheque every month?!
